November 9 is an enchanting New Adult contemporary romance that will leave fans of the genre breathless. The story follows our main character - Fallon - as she prepares to move from L.A. across the country. Of course, on this of all days, she meets the gorgeous aspiring author - Ben - and their immediate connection and attraction to one another leads to Fallon spending her last day in L.A. with him. We see time go by and Ben and Fallon go their separate ways. Fallon's new life is thrilling and eventful - which Ben thinks is the perfect idea for his novel. Even as the years pass, Ben and Fallon always meet up on the same day - November 9 - to relive old memories and to talk about their current lives. Fallon begins to suspect that Ben hasn't been telling her the truth about his life. Could he just be making up a fake life that will end in a huge twist for his novel? If their lives have now become just a story - how will it end?

I have to admit that this is the first book by the author that I've read. I've heard nothing but great things about all of her other works, but the genre isn't one that I immediately go for - so I sadly never got around to them. After reading this book, I definitely realize what I've been missing out on and why the author and her novels are raved about. In my opinion, the book was amazing. I loved Fallon and Ben, and I adored watching their characters change and grow throughout the book - along with their relationship with each other. The plot wasn't completely original (I honestly don't think it's possible anymore with all of the books out there) - but the author put her own unique twist on the template by creating wonderful characters, an intriguing time line, and a roller coaster ride of emotions. These things - among so many others - are what really make this novel stand apart from the others in the genre. The writing is very well done and with all of the vivid imagery and detailed descriptions, I could easily picture myself in the world the author created. I'm not usually a very visceral reader - it's rare when I get really emotional over a book and end up crying or whatnot. Well, this book grabbed my heart and I found myself intensely connected to the characters and their relationship - both the good and the bad. As I said, it was an emotional roller coaster, and I found myself swooning on one page then being upset and mad and then heartbroken (and crying like a baby). For those of you who have read the book - or any of the author's other works - you know what I mean. I don't think it's possible to stay detached from the story - you get wrapped up inside of it from the very beginning. I can't recommend this book highly enough to everyone - especially fans of the genre and the author. You won't be disappointed - I promise.

  1. Your review is wonderful! I've read a lot of them, which I don't normally do before I read the book. I've been on the fence about this one. But not any longer:) Thanks for giving me that little extra push to buy it!
    Have a lovely Thanksgiving.
