When You're Feeling Sick is a picture book geared towards young children who are feeling sick. There are bright full-page illustrations throughout the entirety of the book and they match up great to what's happening in the story. The pictures are well done with tons of color and fun images that young kids are sure to love. The story itself is written in a rhyme scheme, but the cadence didn't work for me. It didn't have a good flow and felt forced much of the time. I think a solid rhythm is key for most picture books in order to keep younger kids entertained, and this story didn't have that. Another thing that bugged me was the overall lack of a story line. It was more like random things mashed together and didn't have much coherence at all. Honestly, the only thing I really enjoyed about this book were the fantastic illustrations. This is just my opinion, and I'm sure other readers will find this book much more entertaining. Good for little kids and for young children learning how to read.
