Synopsis:
THERE’S MAGIC IN HER BLOOD.

Explosive fantasy set in a world of magic and legend, where one girl must sacrifice her life, year by year, to gain the power necessary to fight the mother she has never been good enough for.

Perfect for fans of Sarah J Maas, Tomi Adeyemi and Black Panther

THERE’S MAGIC IN HER BLOOD.

Arrah is a young woman from a long line of the most powerful witch doctors in the land. But she fails at magic, fails to call upon the ancestors and can't even cast the simplest curse.

Shame and disappointment dog her.

When strange premonitions befall her family and children in the kingdom begin to disappear, Arrah undergoes the dangerous and scorned process of selling years of her life for magic. This borrowed power reveals a nightmarish betrayal and a danger beyond what she could have imagined. Now Arrah must find a way to master magic, or at least buy it, in order to save herself and everything she holds dear.

An explosive fantasy set in a world of magic and legend with a twist you will never see coming.
Kingdom of Souls is one of those books that will leave you thinking about it long after you've finished. I personally am a bit of a "cover lover" and have chosen or not chosen books because of their cover. This book's cover is awesome! After seeing that and then reading the description - you had me at witch doctors and magic - and I knew I had to read this story. And I'm so glad that I did! It was an amazing ride with lots of action, magic, lies, and twists you won't see coming. Basically - almost everything I love in a book.

I love how realistic the author made Arrah. She's so easy to connect with right from the beginning of the book. She has so many positive qualities - strong, smart, determined, loyal, dedicated and brave, to name a few. But like everyone else she has her flaws, which the author did a great job of weaving into the story so it made connecting with her effortless. She's full of shame, self doubt, she's scared out of her mind, and feels like she let her family and her people down. She's a very well rounded character and I absolutely loved getting to know her and watch her grow throughout the story.

The author's world building was insane. I literally felt like I could close my eyes and find myself alongside Arrah at any point in the story. The author uses such vivid imagery and detailed descriptions that it brings Arrah's world to life and makes it feel real - like witch doctors, legends, and magic - all in this lush world isn't only possible, but it exists. I loved learning everything I could about Arrah's people, their way of life, their beliefs and legends, and history, and everything else I could learn about them. This is a beautifully written fantasy novel that brings the character and her world to life and then sends to reader on a seemingly impossible quest full of danger, lies, and secrets. I very highly recommend this book to fans of YA, fantasy, paranormal/magic, action and adventure.
