Book Trailer:
What inspired you to write this book?
It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to write a children’s book. I have so many unfinished ideas but nothing really felt right until I began writing The Search for the Scepter. My inspiration came from my two daughters who love reading fantasy books, especially stories with princesses in them. I thought it sounded like a fun and different idea to combine lots of magical creatures into one story with two girls who save the day. I started writing one night and didn’t stop until the story was finished. I read it to my kids who loved it and I began to wonder if I had something publish-worthy. Fast forward to today and I’m living out my ultimate dream!
What do you hope children will gain from reading this book?
I love inspiring creativity and imagination. I want children to know that when it comes to fiction stories, there is no limit. Kids can write, be super creative and produce something magical. I also want to inspire kids to be brave and kind, just like Rosalie and Scarlet.
Julie Dinges lives in Ohio with her husband, two daughters,
one dog, and several fish. She loves being outside, cooking, traveling,
watching science fiction movies, and reading fantasy books to her girls.
Julie spent many years as a technical writer before shifting focus to website design.
One of Julie’s greatest ambitions was to write a book. She is excited to share her first published creation, and hopes it sparks imagination and inspiration for all who read of the princesses’ quest.
