This Is Clare is a cute children's picture book about a dog named Clare and the various activities and antics she gets into. This is obviously a book aimed for children learning to read. There are eight different scenes made up of three sentences and pictures that are presented in the book with each beginning with the phrase "This is Clare." The rest of the sequence is about Clare doing something and then doing the activity with an adjective that rhymes with the verb. It's a great way to help early readers practice reading and rhyming. The sentences are short and easy to understand which is helpful to keep the readers focus. There is an illustration that takes up the entire page of the whole book. The pictures are colorful, fun, and perfectly coincide with what's happening in the story. It's a great visual aid to go along with Clare's story. I definitely recommend this book for children learning to read as well as young kids who enjoy being read to while looking at cute illustrations.
