Still, he agrees to give her a chance, and soon the two are heating up the bedroom as well as the boardroom.

But when Skye’s ex-boyfriend threatens to reveal a dangerous secret from her past, her job, relationship with Landon, and her father’s career are suddenly all on the line. Will she be forced to leave Landon? Or will she pursue her heart, regardless of the cost?

“I miss you girls,” I said. Tears burned behind my eyes.
Not missing a beat, Ellie said, “Skye, what's wrong?”
“Nothing, nothing. I'm just so happy you guys are here. So how's life with Mr. Rich and Famous?” I deflected.
The smile that overcame Ellie's face made me envious. Not in a jealous I-wish-she-didn’t-have-that way. In a wistful way, where I hoped that someday there'd be someone to put the same smile on my face.
“Life with Mason is incredible. All the traveling takes some getting used to, but I'm glad that we're back in L.A. for a few months while he works on his new album. It'll be good to stay in one place for a while.”
“Except when you come to visit us,” Katie said.
“Which you’re going to do often, right?” I added.
“No doubt about it.” Ellie winked.
Ellie filled us in about life on the road and some of the cities her and Mason had visited on tour. When the food arrived, instead of sitting at the breakfast bar, we all opted to eat off our laps in my living room.
“So Katie, any more dating disasters?” Ellie asked.
“Oh my God, you guys. If I have to go out with another live-at-home loser, I'm gonna shoot myself.”
“Hey!” Ellie and I both said in unison.
“I just moved out of my parents’ house, thank you,” I said.
“That’s different. I like dating older guys. I'm sorry, but if you're in your late twenties and still living with mom and dad, something's up.” We both nodded in agreement. “Even worse if you have to borrow mom's car to pick me up for our date.”
“You can't be serious,” I giggled. Katie sent me a death glare.
“Where do you find these guys?” Ellie asked with an amused tone.
“Online mostly. It's like searching through a second-hand shop for an almost new pair of Manolo Bhlaniks. I’m looking for a diamond in the rough.”
“You are not leaving me with much hope for re-entering the dating world,” I said.
“I haven’t even told you about the guy who sent me a picture of his penis in a strappy high-heel sandal.”
“What?” Ellie screeched.
“It was impressive, actually. I’d say he’d fill a size ten for sure, but seriously—who does that?”
“Do you have the picture on your phone?” I asked.
“Of course,” Katie replied.
“Well, let’s see it!” Ellie said.
Katie grabbed her phone from her purse, scrolled through it for a moment, and finally turned her phone to face us.
“Oh. My. God,” I said in disbelief and then started to laugh.
“It actually almost looks like a foot in there. How is that possible?” Ellie asked, laughing.
“It took me a minute, too,” Katie said.
“So do you consider that a foot fetish, a shoe fetish, or something else entirely?” I was laughing so hard that it was all I could do to get the words out.
“Where does a guy even get the idea for that? Like, is he sitting around the house one day thinking, ‘I wonder what my dick would look like in a pair of Jimmy Choo’s?” Ellie said.
“Do you think he wears the shoes, too?” I questioned.
“Skye, take a look…he is wearing the shoe,” Katie pointed out.
“I think she means on his actual feet,” Ellie said, giggling.
“All I know is I don’t want my lady bits anywhere near a guy that’s had his penis in a fungus factory like a shoe.”
“Oh God. Can you imagine?” I said, disgusted by the thought.
“I wonder what it would look like in a peep toe…” Ellie said and trailed off, looking like she was actually trying to picture it in her mind.
“Hmm…kind of like a peep-penis shoe,” Katie said.
“I wonder if instead of heel supports he uses ball supports?” We all laughed together until we literally couldn’t laugh any more. Finally, Katie said, “Anyway, like the mayor's daughter has any trouble getting a date with a decent, employed guy.”
Before I could tell her that no one, employed or otherwise, had asked me on a date recently, Ellie cut in. “Have you heard from Vic at all since you split?” She may have kept tight-lipped about her dislike of Vic while I was still dating him, but I expected now that he wasn't in my life anymore, I was going to get the unedited version.
I’d given both my friends a surface-level rundown of the events leading up to the demise of Skye and Vic. Looked like it was time to pony up.

Author: Elisabeth Grace
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Release Date: December 2, 2013

Description:
All publicity is good publicity, right? Unless you’re recent college grad Ellie Wagner and an embarrassing video of you and your boyfriend goes viral. Every man in your life abandons you, but who knew a one-minute clip of your latest doomed relationship would brand you a slut, prevent you from getting your perfect job, and force you to keep doing the one thing you swore you’d never do again…live with your mother.

But staying with mom and her latest boy-toy (is this husband number four or five?) until your life turns around might not be all bad. Especially when you fall – literally – at the feet of a sexy, green-eyed stranger who offers you freedom and a life of luxury on a gold-rimmed platter.

There’s only one little problem – the man of your dreams is none other than Mason Nash, the latest hip-hop star busting up the music charts. Fame and fortune are his calling cards and he’s vying to steal the show on a new reality TV series that will catapult him into mainstream stardom. Hello spotlight.

The man behind the famous persona is perfect for Ellie in every way, but can she overcome the ugly pitfalls that come with Mason's celebrity status? Or will she be forced to choose between the man she loves and the independent life she longs for? After all, fame and fortune aren’t always what they seem and not all publicity is good publicity…

Rumor Has It is a New Adult contemporary romance that follows lead characters Ellie Wagner and Mason Nash as their two very different lives collide and their worlds are turned completely upside down. Ellie has just graduated college when an embarrassing video of her and her ex goes up on the Internet - which basically ruins her life by preventing her from getting a good job and being seen as a slut. That's how Ellie finds herself moving back in with her mom and her latest husband and wondering how her life went so wrong. Enter Mason Nash - the newest hip hop music star who's rolling in money and fame. What will happen when Ellie's dream guy is always in the spotlight - the last place she wants to be?

This was a fun and steamy New Adult romance with deeper issues mixed into the story. Ellie is a great leading lady for the book. She's smart and determined, but she's also incredibly flawed - which I think makes her all the more realistic and easy to relate to. She makes a stupid mistake (the video with her boyfriend) which then takes on a life of its own and puts her in some bad positions. We've all been in a situation like that before, which made me love Ellie all the more. Mason is the standard man candy of the story - gorgeous, rich, famous, etc. But underneath his public persona is a completely different guy - one who is sweet, kind, and romantic. I liked that the author put two sides to Mason's character, because most people do the same thing in life - even if they aren't famous. We all wear masks in front of others to hide things about ourselves, which made me like Mason more along with giving the story an added depth. Among the fun story line, where Ellie and Mason meet and their relationship grows, there are some serious topics thrown in that makes the reader really think about things. The book deals with mistakes and their consequences, believing in yourself, doing what you believe is right, and (of course) love. I definitely liked watching Ellie and Mason's relationship develop - especially the steamy parts - and to see where they would end up by the end of the book. I'm glad that this is the first book in a series - there's so many great ways that the author can take the story and I can't wait to see what happens next. Definitely recommended for fans of New Adult contemporary romance!!

When I have a moment to breath you can usually find me typing furiously on the keyboard to get my next story on paper, or curled up reading about someone else's HEA. The second book in my Limelight series, Picture Perfect, is set to release at the end of March 2014.
