My Writer’s Cave

post is an easy one for me because I dedicated SWEET ON YOU to "the
places that cheerfully gave me a place to site" while I wrote it. I do
best when I'm out in public, where I can be inspired by random
conversations. We don't call it "eavesdropping" in my household – we
call it "unexpected gifts."
Every day I trek to a local place that's sweet and nice enough to let me loiter. Here are a few of my favorites.
CONTRABAND...
a chic, modern coffee bar on California Street – a street which happens
to be featured in the Laurel Heights series! Josh makes an awesomely
potent latte.
Rapha... part coffee shop, part
bike store, 100% cool. And there's the added bonus of men in bicycle
shorts, which is an under-appreciated thing.
Nectar...
sometimes a girl needs more than coffee, and Chris, the owner of this
fabulous wine bar, always knows what I need. Nectar isn't in Laurel
Heights, but it's made cameos in a couple of the books.
My
current writing cave is Thailand where I'm spending my honeymoon and
putting the finishing touches on TAMED BY YOU. But that's another book
for another blog…
