Aaron George Randolph, ruling King of the Lycans, is hell-bent on revenge for his mother’s brutal death at the hands of Vampires. But when a suspicious student takes up resident on his turf, he can’t help but be drawn to her despite knowing what she is.

Taken into custody by the ruling family of Brookedge, Mia’s life is complicated by the whole different world of mythical creatures living among humans. Now she must survive the impending civil war between old rivals, all the while learning about her true self and the power she holds. Torn between the nature of who she is and the overwhelming desire for the Lycan king, her choices are minimal.

What begins as vicious hostility changes into defying desire as Aaron and Mia are brought together by an unforgiving grudge that miraculously blooms into something unexpected that neither knew they needed.

With the war on the rise and a powerful enemy at the head of it, will their feelings for each other heal them in time? Or will they be forced to part ways and deny each other what was fated to be?

Ted Lawrence has been pacing the small hotel room for the last hour. The vampires’ lair was restless. Supernatural abductions had become a daily occurrence and staying away from his daughter was the only way to keep the attention off of her.

It had been over a year. The longest she has stayed in one place since Phoenix. He wondered if her scent has changed. The curfew forced him to stay away from her, and it unsettled his nerves. Speaking of which, he wondered why his associate hadn’t contacted him yet.

Figuring out his next step was crucial now that her finals were so close. They should move away for good. Go far from the impending war. Only if such a place existed. No place is safe till Felipe sits on the throne. His drudges were on the move. They were aiming at something big. That much was evident. Why else would they feel the need to wipe out the harmless supernatural races? The latest news claimed the goblins and gnomes were already on the run.

How long before they discovered the secret he has been protecting? Protecting her became his priority ever since fate crossed their paths in a small town market eighteen years ago. Mia Lawrence––the shy child with wide blue eyes and a bright smile––his daughter.

"Mr. Lawrence!" Logan, his human associate, came barging into the room.

Ted whirled around, and his train of thought derailed as his eyes focused on the young man standing in front of him. “What is it?" he asked, taking in Logan’s disheveled form.

"It's about Mia, sir. The lycans are tailing her," Logan said, anxious hands raking through his messy, dark hair.

“What?" Ted cried in shock. He knew it would happen, but he didn't expect it this soon. Lycans were bad news. “Is there more?" he asked, noticing his associate shifting from one foot to another.

“It’s. . .them. The royal betas. They are the ones after her. I heard more vampires are lurking around the borders,” he said, wiping the sweat from his face.

Logan became Mia’s neighbor under his orders to watch over her in his absence.

He should have expected this. The warlock cursed. How did he even think she would be safe in the lycan territory? “You should have informed me sooner!”

“Your phone is dead.”

Crap. He hadn’t even realized. His medieval brain never comprehended the latest technology and often forgot that he even owned a phone. His carelessness has now paved a way for their downfall.

There was no escape once she came under their radar.

Do they know what she is? How am I going to save her this time?

What would they do when they discovered the truth? He rubbed the back of his neck. Jerome, the former king, wouldn’t lose a chance to avenge his wife against the vampires. To wait for them to act would be foolish. He had to act immediately.

"We need to get her out of there. You–”

The door burst open, sending wooden splinters everywhere. Ted’s head whipped around, eyes widening. Everything happened in a fraction of a second. Bright amber eyes stared into his soul as darkness consumed him.
