Love on the Line Blog Tour: Excerpt + Giveaway

Love on the Line (Women at Work #1)
Author: Kirsten Fullmer
Genre: YA/New Adult Coming of Age/Romance
Publication Date: June 14, 2017

Description:

Andrea is an ordinary girl in an extraordinary situation.

She left her comfortable home and family to take a job building a pipeline with her estranged grandpa, Buck. She’s curious about his job, and why her mother dislikes the man. She didn’t expect to uncover buried family secrets, or for the job to be so difficult.

Rooster isn’t a bad guy. He respects women; he was raised by one of the best. But that new girl on the job is too small and feminine. She’s a distraction, plain and simple, and she doesn’t belong on a pipeline. This job is his chance to impress Buck Brennan, a pipeline legend, and no girly greenhorn is going to ruin it for him.

Will Andrea prove herself to her grandfather and forge a relationship with the old man, or will continuous disagreements and unexpected sexual tension between Andrea and Rooster derail their hard work?

Andy headed for the coffee pot chugging away in the corner of the office. Since the weather had warmed the last few days, the office smelled of working men and dirt—that perpetual sweaty, outdoors smell you can’t put a name to.

She no longer needed coffee to warm her up—she needed it to wake up. Some days she felt like she was so far behind on sleep, she’d never catch up. Most mornings she ran on autopilot, pulling on clothes and brushing her teeth, then climbing into Buck’s truck like a robot. That morning she’d stared into her empty drawer for a full two minutes before she realized her clothes were still in the dryer.

She filled her coffee cup and turned to survey the room. Men trickled in, each one looking as worn and exhausted as she felt. Nick trudged in and lifted a hand to say good morning before joining in the conversation of the other men. Rooster wasn’t there yet, not that she noticed.

Right on cue, the door opened and the man on her mind walked in, looking as well-groomed and alert as ever. Damn him. Andy turned and headed for her usual chair in the corner.

Fifteen minutes later she saw Buck nod toward her and head for the door. She stood and stretched, collected her jacket, then brushed past the men as she tugged it on.

Rooster followed on her heels, nearly shoving her out the door as he slammed it behind him.

“What are you doing?” she demanded.

Reaching behind her, he brushed off the back of her jacket, then held up a lacy orange thong, swinging it from one finger. “Looks like this hitched a ride on the back of your jacket.”

The tiny underwear dangled like a clock pendulum in front of her face.

She snatched away the thong, her cheeks flaming, then ran down the steps to follow Buck.

“You’re welcome!” he called after her with a grin.
