Email/RSS Subscription Update

Hey all! I just wanted to give you an update regarding my email/RSS subscription. After I learned that Feedburner was basically stopping its services in October, I switched to a different server - FeedCat. I sent out emails to all my subscribers and asked everyone to switch over. Then, about 2 weeks ago, my FeedCat widget stopped showing up on the blog. I tried to access their website and my account, but was unable to get to either. There was an error message each time saying that their servers were "temporarily down" an to try back later. This lasted until about 2 days ago, when I could finally log back on to my account. When I did so, I noticed - to my absolute horror - that my account had been wiped clean. There were no subscribers. No RSS readers. NOTHING. Needless to say, I was very upset. I've tried contacting FeedCat twice about getting all my old information back, including my RSS and email subscribers, but I haven't heard back. I'm not holding my breath.

So, what does that mean to all of you? If you were an email or RSS subscriber and would like to remain one, pretty please go back over to the widget on the right sidebar and sign back up to receive feeds/emails from my site. For all of you who haven't signed up but would like to (and I really hope you do!), just head over to the widget and sign up there. I'm really hoping this is the last time I'll have major problems with my RSS service. If not, I guess I'll have to figure something out when that happens. For now, I'm going to start fresh and cross my fingers & toes that it doesn't happen again.

I'm so very sorry to all my subscribers who accidentally got deleted during this fiasco, and I truly hope that you decide to sign back up to receive email or feeds from me. Thanks to everyone for their patience while this has been going on. It's been really irritating!

Thanks again!

  1. Hi Steph,

Looking at this post, I just realized that I never switched over to your Feedcat subscription services, but I've still been getting your email updates all along. So, maybe you have more subscribers who are in the same boat, and you haven't quite lost as many as you think :)

    1. Thanks for replying Melissa! I checked out Feedburner the day I after I wrote this post and saw that I never disabled the feed. So I guess you might be right! I added the Feedburner button with the other one, in case people would rather subscribe that way. Thank goodness that I never deleted that feed! I hope that you're right about not losing as many people as I thought! :)
