Description:
This little
bunny is ready to embark on the path toward becoming a super awesome
ninja. He does what any bunny would do: follows a step-by-step guide in
order to become the BEST ninja bunny that ever lived. First, he must
learn to work alone and to be
super sneaky, strong, and speedy; and most importantly, he must be able
to battle anyone, anywhere, anytime. Then the little ninja faces his
biggest challenge yet: a big brown bear. What’s a bunny-in-training to
do?
Ninja Bunny is a fun children's picture book that will leave readers of all ages wanting more! The story is about a bunny who wants to become a super awesome ninja. There just happens to be a book that tells you how to become one of these ninjas - along with ten rules that all ninjas have to follow. The book goes through each rule (for example, rule 4: A super awesome ninja must: achieve invisibility) on how one can become an awesome ninja. The rules are believable and fit in perfectly with the story. The writing itself is in the form of ten rules (like I mentioned above) and flows naturally. There are gorgeous illustrations on each page of the book. Some of them are separated on the page, while others take up a two-page spread. The pictures are done with lots of color and go hand in hand with what's happening during the story - for example, going back to rule 4 and achieving invisibility, there's a smaller illustration beside this rule that shows the bunny hiding in a bush with its ears and feet poking out. The story, though short and done in an original manner, does have a positive message at the end. The bunny begins it's own book, with the first rule being that a super awesome ninja needs to have super awesome friends.
I absolutely adore this book! It's funny and a blast to read. What kids wouldn't want to read or hear a story about a bunny who wants to be a ninja? The words are a mix of very simple to medium difficulty which is great for kids in several different age groups. The book is perfect to read to young kids who can't read themselves - the short rules and colorful illustrations keep the children's attention throughout the story. It also works well for kids who are learning how to read - it's great with identifying letters and different words - and for older kids, it's a fantastic tool for sounding out words and forming sentences, as well as practicing reading on their own. From the bright and adorable illustrations to the fun story and the positive message within - this book is perfect for a wide range of kids. I would absolutely recommend this book to parents or caregivers of younger children, teachers of small kids, and even as a gift.
