Description:
“The end of an Empire. The rise of a Queen.”
Emory Fae enjoys leading a quiet, normal life that is until two mysterious, and dare I say handsome soldiers show up at her apartment doorstep and the life she knew is instantly whisked away. Coming from the magical and ravaged world of Kiero, Emory is brought back not realizing that both men are darkly woven in her past. Discovering she is the long lost heir to the Royal Line Emory is thrown into Black Dawn Rebellion with a dynamic role to ignite the rebels and reclaim her throne. With both lives clashing Emory uncovers hidden secrets from her past, a power held long dormant, and will soon realize there are worse things than supernatural humans, love, loss, betrayal, and a Mad King.
Some things are better left in the shadows.
He panted, blood pouring from his nostrils. Pressing his sleeve to his face, he sat down, pinching his nose. Emory, still unconscious, was sprawled across the forest floor. They were back in the outskirts of the Academy. Memphis paced back and forth, his brow furrowed.
“We are too exposed. We have to get back to the Academy, Brokk. You can rest there,” Memphis snapped at him, his agitation obvious.
Brokk sneered up at his friend, “Yes, sir.” He threw the thought at him, scowling as he made his way up. Traveling by the channel left him irritable and drained. Anger curled around his heart. He risked just as much as Memphis did. Without him, Emory wouldn’t even be here. His emotions were on a tight leash, feeling as if any moment he would lash out. Using his ability had its limits—it was a wear and tear on his body. He saw it as an exchange of energy and strength to be able to accomplish something others had only dreamed of. Standing, he made a move to lift Emory.
Memphis protectively moved in front of her. “I have to be the one to bring her in—we both know that.” His voice was just a whisper as Brokk squinted at him through his swelling eye. Tension burned inside him, but he was too tired to start a fight. Turning around, he limped his way back to the Academy, Memphis following suit, cradling Emory in his arms.

Time was a mysterious thing. What had only felt like a couple of hours on Earth was an entire day back at the Academy. Brokk spotted Nyx stalking back and forth like a cat about to pounce. She must have been waiting for their return—the risks involved in this alone were great, but Brokk knew her. She didn’t care. He gave her a slight nod, but her eyes were locked on the sight behind Brokk. In Memphis’s arms, Emory hung limp and pale as her hair swayed with the rhythm of his steps.
“Is she dead?” Nyx curtly asked.
“Just knocked out. He restored her previous memories. I’m sure her mind is a bit at war with itself. You of all people should be able to relate.”
Scowling, for once she didn’t snap back at him with a snarky reply. She continued flatly, “I have reached an agreement with the others. We stand with you both, moving forward with the new plan and her.
