Synopsis:

This thrilling debut, reminiscent of new fan favorites like One of Us Is Lying and the beloved classics by Agatha Christie, will leave readers guessing until the explosive ending.

Welcome to dinner, and again, congratulations on being selected. Now you must do the selecting.

What do the queen bee, star athlete, valedictorian, stoner, loner, and music geek all have in common? They were all invited to a scholarship dinner, only to discover it’s a trap. Someone has locked them into a room with a bomb, a syringe filled with poison, and a note saying they have an hour to pick someone to kill … or else everyone dies.

Amber Prescott is determined to get her classmates and herself out of the room alive, but that might be easier said than done. No one knows how they’re all connected or who would want them dead. As they retrace the events over the past year that might have triggered their captor’s ultimatum, it becomes clear that everyone is hiding something. And with the clock ticking down, confusion turns into fear, and fear morphs into panic as they race to answer the biggest question: Who will they choose to die?
All Your Twisted Secrets is a new YA mystery thrill ride that will have readers on the edge of their seats and guessing until the very end. This is one of my favorite genres and I was so excited when I read the description. A lot of the time I get let down though because I can always figure things out before the main character or see things coming a mile away. That definitely wasn't the case with this book.

I was immediately sucked into Amber's world right from the beginning. The story is told in the first person point of view from her perspective, so it felt like I was right beside her the entire time. I personally love the first person POV because of the way it lets the reader slip inside the story and really connect with the narrator. I was so incredibly happy that the author chose to write the book in this style. I think it was a perfect fit and made it all the more suspenseful. I found myself devouring the pages as fast as I could to see what was going to happen next. I ended up reading the entire book in one sitting because I literally couldn't put it down.

All of the major characters, including Amber, were complex and realistic. They each had good traits, flaws, secrets, and their own personalities. I loved getting to know each of them as the story progressed and trying to figure out how everyone was connected and why they were in this messed up situation. I really liked Amber because I got to know her the best - because of the first person writing style. We get a look inside her mind to see her inner thoughts, fears, hopes and dreams, memories, and everything in between. I liked watching her try to piece everything together to figure out what was going on. I definitely had my own ideas and theories, but every time I thought I had it figured out, there would be a big twist and I would be back at square one. There are lots of red herrings, misdirections, lies and secrets to keep you guessing until the very end. I loved that I couldn't figure it out before the end of the book. With this being one of my favorite genres, it's hard to find books that can actually stump me and leave me guessing. That's how I know when I've found a seriously talented author - when they can pull twists and turns and shock me again and again. I definitely recommend this book to fans of YA contemporary, suspense, mysteries, and thrillers.
