Review Copy Cleanup 3.0 - February 2013

Since the only books I have been reading and will be reading in the foreseeable future are review copies, I decided to sign up for the Review Copy Cleanup for February! It's being hosted by Vicki @ Books, Biscuits, and Tea and Celine @ Nyx Book Reviews. Sign ups are still open until February 15th, so hurry and join in! Here are the guidelines taken from Vicki's sign up post:

Guidelines:
  • Review Copy Cleanup 3.0 runs from 1 to 28 February
  • It starts and ends at midnight in your local timezone to avoid confusion
  • To sign up, just fill in the linky below. Link to your sign up post directly, please! The linky is the same for both our blogs, so you only have to sign up once.
  • The Linky will close on the 15th, so make you sign up before then.
  • When you post your sign up post on your blog, either include the challenge button with your post or link it back to this article so that people know where to sign up. Thanks! (:
  • Every book you received for review counts towards the challenge, both e-books and hard copies (even audio books for review if you have those), including all genres and lengths.
  • Feel free to use the #RCCleanup hashtag on Twitter for your RCC related tweets or join the Twitter party at http://tweetchat.com/room/RCCleanup and meet lots of awesome bloggers (:
  • At the end of every week we will post our personal updates, and we’ll include a linky for you to add yours!

I don't really have any goals for this review pile cleanup challenge - and it's actually the first challenge I've done! I'm pretty excited and I hope that it will motivate me to get through more books than I normally would!

Here are some of the books I've already finished so far this month:

And here's a sample of some books I'll be reading for blog tours & (hopefully!) for fun:

Yeah, it looks way ambitious! But the sad thing is that I have even more review titles that release in February alone. I have a definite review pile problem!!

Go sign up now and link me up!!

Review Copy Cleanup: Starting Line & Goals

Today marks the first day of the Review Copy Cleanup! I'm excited to be participating in this because I am currently drowning in review copies. It's going to last the entire month of August, so I'm really hoping to get some serious reading done and to make a big dent in my review pile.

Here's my dilemma though: Lately - more like the past couple of months - I have been reading books that I have to read for review (for book tours, for publishers who request a certain date, etc.) and I have now hit a serious reading slump. I feel pressured to read these books and I am really starting to feel that reading them is a chore. I honestly can't remember the last time I read a book I really wanted to read. It's making me pretty upset. I have TONS of review copies - physical and ebooks - that I need to read, and a lot of these are ones that I really want to read. BUT - I feel pressed to read the "must read" ones instead of ones I know I would really enjoy.

My question to you, fellow book lovers, is what should I do? Since this is a long reading challenge, I would really appreciate some feedback and/or suggestions from you. I don't want my favorite thing (reading) to become a chore. UGH... I've let my review pile bury me alive and now I'm drowning. I beg of you to please help me figure out what books I should read!!

I want to thank everyone who comments in advance for your suggestions and support. Leave me links to your posts for the cleanup and I'll be sure to stop by and share the love!

Happy reading everyone!

Review Copy Cleanup August!

The Review Copy Cleanup is back! For the entire month of August, I will be joining fellow bloggers in attacking our review piles to get them under some control. I've been starting to drown in all the review copies I have, so when I saw this - I thought "Perfect!" There is still plenty of time to sign up to participate. The Cleanup begins on August 1st and runs until the end of the month - August 31st. It's being hosted by Nyx Book Reviews and Books, Biscuits, and Tea.

Click here to get more info on the cleanup and to sign up!  All the rules and requirements are listed there too - so make sure you check it out before the cleanup starts! I hope to see you all during the event as we blitz our review piles!

Like I mentioned, I'm practically drowning in review copies, so I haven't decided which ones I'm going to read or what my goals are. Gladly, I have a little while to decide, so watch for updates!
