Vengeance Bound is a edgy YA novel that centers on Corrinne "Cory" Graff as she attempts to integrate to a new high school for the rest of her senior year. What her new classmates and teachers don't know is that Cory is actually the third Fury from Greek mythology. She made a deal with the other two Furies when she was in trouble as a young girl and now she helps them bring Justice to men who have done terrible deeds. The other two Furies have a terrible bloodlust and a thirst for vengeance that is never satisfied. Cory must keep them under control in order to lead even a semi-normal life after her escape from a mental institution. Things have been going well until Cory meets a mysterious and sexy guy named Niko at her new school. Niko makes Cory feel things she never thought possible and the burden of the Furies has never felt heavier. Cory can feel herself losing control over the Furies in her mind and she must find a way to keep them at bay if she has any hope of living her own life.

This was a truly original and inventive debut novel that far exceeded my expectations. I love mythology and the Furies have never really been featured in YA literature - at least not in this capacity - before. The mythology behind the Furies and the other mythological aspects woven into the story was really interesting and I found myself wanting to learn as much as I could about them. Cory was an interesting main character and we see her really struggle to maintain her "normal" life and keep her sanity. The way that she is bound to the Furies was intriguing and I though the idea was really fresh. Niko was a great love interest and I fell for him just as bad as Cory did. They have crazy chemistry between them and the connection they share only made me root for them more. The writing was very well done and the pace was fast but not rushed. I found myself eagerly turning the pages to keep the story going and I was really disappointed when the book came to an end. There is a ton of potential for a sequel to this book and I'm really hoping that the author will write one. I'm eager to learn what will happen next after this book finished. Overall, this was an amazing debut novel from an author that has obvious talent. I highly recommend it for fans of mythology and YA fiction. This is definitely a book you will want to get your hands on!
