Witchcraft is the second book in a young adult paranormal romance series that follows Jessica - "Jess" - as she continues to adjust to her new life as a half-vampire witch. She has the powers of both supernatural beings, but the inability to control them. Now there are dark witches after her and a vampire war to deal with. On top of things, Daniel - Jess' vampire boyfriend - finds himself in prison and it's up to Jess to find out why he's in there and how to get him out. Jess must learn how to fight and how to depend on herself if she has any hope of staying alive and helping her friends.

This was a fun, if somewhat campy, paranormal teen book. The characters continued to be pretty shallow, although we do see some maturation and growth with Jess. There are romance issues to deal with on top of several supernatural beings that are introduced into the series. It's kind of hard to keep tabs on the multiple threads of the story as well as which characters are fighting with who and why. The plot was more in depth and layered than the first book, but the concepts aren't anything new to the genre. Most of the content continued to be at least mildly cliched and stereotypical, but I liked losing myself in the story. This series continues to be an interesting ride with an enjoyable plot line and fun (if confusing and shallow) characters. Recommended for fans of YA vampire fiction and those looking for a fun paranormal read.

Hi I'm Emma. I am happily married with two lovely children. I have always loved reading and writing and published my first novel WitchBlood in Jan 2012 with Witchcraft following in June and WitchLove due in Feb 2013. After acquiring an obsessive love of supernatural teen novels...yes I'm a Twilight fan...I decided to write my own supernatural story based here in Manchester in the UK, near where I live and grew up. It's currently dark, windy, cold and very very wet... and easy to get inspiration.
