Description:

You'd think being stuck in the body of a beautiful seventeen year old girl forever would be a gift. But when you are fallen, it is more like a curse.

Indiana was a beautiful angel, enjoying the perks of Heaven, until she was tricked by a demon to fall in love with him. She was forced to fall from Heaven and remain in her seventeen year old form, banished to Earth, for all of eternity.

Now, unable to cope with her banishment, she is a seemingly normal seventeen year old girl by day, while she spends her nights punishing men for the wrongs they have committed against women.

Although Indiana has lived on Earth for thousands of years, she recently settled into a small town, where she has finally been able to make some lasting friendships. When a handsome, mysterious boy comes to town, Indiana knows something is not right. He might end up her ally, or she might end up in the fight of her life.

Heavenly Hell is a thrilling and captivating first novel in a young adult fantasy series. The book follows main character Indiana, who just happens to be a fallen angel who is forever trapped inside the body of a seventeen year old girl. She spends her days acting like any other teenage girl, but at night she punishes men for doing wrong against women. Her life in the small town she recently moved to has been pretty normal given her circumstances - until a mysterious and gorgeous new guy comes to town. Indiana knows that something about this guy is different, like her. Is he a friend or the enemy?

I found this book to be really fun and exciting with a great story line. It's not the most original concept out there, but the plot, characters, and history behind Indiana gave the book a uniqueness that makes it stands out from others similar to it. The characters were all well done, especially that of Indiana. I loved her character from the start. She's wise, beautiful, kind, and a seemingly well adjusted teenage girl. Then she goes out and punishes men who hurt women. Awesome. On top of all that, she's a fallen angel - and I absolutely loved learning as much as I could about her character and her history as I could. I think it added a great depth to the book and the character of Indiana. The story line was intriguing, if somewhat predictable at times. Of course there's going to be a mysterious new guy showing up in town and he is, as always, gorgeous. I liked the mystery of finding out who he really was and what he wanted in the town and with Indiana - it gave the book a little mystery to go along with the other aspects. The writing was solid with a great pace and a natural flow that had me reading the book really quickly. I'm definitely intrigued on what will happen in the next book and look forward to learning even more about the Fallen and Indiana. Definitely recommended for fans of YA fantasy and paranormal fiction.

  1. Great review Steph, I'll be posting up my review as part of the tour later in the week too! Indy was a great character, but I did have some problems with the book. I think it could have been better.

  2. I absolutely loved this novel, i realized straight away by the writing style that this author was Australian. This novel reached the targeted audience and hopefully taught them a thing or two about standing up for themselves and not being taken advantage of.
