Ever since the day the forest fell, Arendellians have despised and distrusted Northuldra with a vengeance. No matter that the Northuldra-along with some of Arendelle's own-have been trapped in the Enchanted Forest behind an impenetrable wall of mist since the day of the battle.
Iduna doesn't know why the mist refuses to part, or why it descended to begin with. The only clear thing is that she must keep her identity from everyone, even Agnarr. Her life depends on it.

Dangerous Secrets: The Story of Iduna and Agnarr is a beautifully told story that fans of the movie are going to love. The book focuses on Elsa and Anna's parents - how they first met, how they grew up together, the secrets Iduna kept about her real past, and how they fell in love. I'm a big fan of the movies, so I figured this would be a great way to fill in a part of the story we never got to hear about, but I didn't expect that I'd love it as much as I did. There wasn't anything I didn't fully enjoy and that's not something I can say often.
The author did a fantastic job of bringing the world of Arendelle and the surrounding areas to life right before my eyes. There was so much attention to detail and vivid imagery that I was able to easily slip inside the world she created right from the very beginning. Being a fan and seeing the movies several times, I could see everything crystal clear in my mind. It felt like I was right there beside the characters while the story unfolded.
One other huge aspect of the book for me was the writing style. The author used the first person point of view from the alternating viewpoints of Iduna and Agnarr. I think this was the perfect choice for the story and couldn't have been done better. I loved getting to see their story unfold from both sides - his and hers - but it also felt like I was right there beside each of them the entire time. With the worldbuilding, realistic characters, writing style, and intriguing plot, this was an amazing book that I devoured in one sitting. I can't recommend it highly enough for fans of the Frozen movies and readers who like YA fantasy, fairy tales, and retellings.
