The First Book in the Series:

Ever since the Delonese ice-planet arrived eleven years ago, Sofi's dreams have been vivid. Alien. In a system where Earth's corporations rule in place of governments and the humanoid race orbiting the moon are allies, her only constant has been her younger brother, Shilo. As an online gamer, Sofi battles behind the scenes of Earth's Fantasy Fighting arena where Shilo is forced to compete in a mix of real and virtual blood sport. But when a bomb takes out a quarter of the arena, Sofi's the only one who believes Shilo survived. She has dreams of him. And she's convinced he's been taken to the ice-planet.

Except no one but ambassadors are allowed there.

For Miguel, Earth's charming young playboy, the games are of a different sort. As Ambassador to the Delonese, his career has been built on trading secrets and seduction. Until the Fantasy Fight's bomb goes off. Now the tables have turned and he's a target for blackmail. The game is simple: Help the blackmailers, or lose more than anyone can fathom, or Earth can afford.

Siren's Song (The Storm Siren Trilogy #3)
Author: Mary Weber
Genre: YA Paranormal/Fantasy
Release Date: March 1, 2016
Publisher: Thomas Nelson / HarperCollins

Rating: 5 Stars!

Synopsis:

Nym and Draewulf prepare to face off in a battle destined to destroy more lives than it saves.

With the loss of Tulla still fresh in mind, Rasha’s fate unknown, and Lord Myles taken over by the dark ability, Nym and the few Bron soldiers rush to warn Cashlin’s queen. Only to discover it may already be too late for the monarch and her eerie kingdom. As the Luminescents are sifting through Nym’s past memories and the queen is reading into her future, Nym is given a choice of how to defeat Draewulf, but the cost may be more than she can bear. And even then there are no guarantees.

With that reality burrowing into her bones—along with the guilt of the lives she will sacrifice—Nym returns to her homeland of Faelen to raise an army of peasants through promises of freedom. But when the few friends she has left, along with the world and citizens she loves, are staring down the face of a monster and his undead army, will Nym summon every element her blood is capable of controlling . . . or surrender to a different strength—one of sacrifice?

Because in the end, death may be more merciful for them all.
Siren's Song is the third and final book in the amazing young adult fantasy Storm Siren Trilogy. I've read and loved the first two books in the series, so I was both excited and wary of this final installment. I couldn't wait to see the final battle and to find out what else would happen. The first two novels were fantastic, which made me have pretty high hopes and expectations for this book. Luckily, the author finished the series just as thrilling as she began it. It definitely lived up to my hopes for it - and even went above and beyond some of my expectations. It was a fantastic finale to a truly captivating trilogy - which made it all the more bittersweet for me, because in part I wanted to see what happens and also because I was really bummed that this was the final book, and I wouldn't be diving into Nym's world any more.

Nym continued to be an awesome and strong female lead up to the very end. Even though she's matured and grown into herself and her abilities by now, I still loved watching her character change and evolve throughout the book. She's a seriously kick-ass heroine with awesome magic and tons of fantastic traits - like fighting for the people and their freedom. Honestly, I think she ranks up there with some of the other strongest leading ladies we've come across. The plot was as I expected - the epic final battle between Nym and Draewulf - but there were some twists and turns in the story line that I wasn't expecting, some of which were real curveballs. The entire story was rich with detailed descriptions and vivid imagery - which made it incredibly easy for me to slip right back into Nym's world, almost like I never left. The world building is amazing and really brought the story to life in front of my eyes - to the point where I felt as if I was right beside Nym, experiencing everything as she did. The writing was solid and very well done, with complex characters and a vibrant setting that sucked me in from the very beginning of the first book. Overall, this was a great ending to a truly captivating trilogy - one that I know I'll be re-reading for a long time to come. Very highly recommended for fans of YA fantasy, paranormal, action, adventure, and magic!

Siren's Fury Tour: Review + Giveaway

Siren's Fury (The Storm Siren Trilogy #2)
Author: Mary Weber
Genre: YA Fantasy/Romance
Release Date: June 2, 2015
Publisher: Thomas Nelson / HarperCollins

Rate: 5 Stars!

Synopsis:

"I thrust my hand toward the sky as my voice begs the Elemental inside me to waken and rise. But it's no use. The curse I've spent my entire life abhorring—the thing I trained so hard to control—no longer exists."

Nym has saved Faelen only to discover that Draewulf stole everything she valued. Now he’s destroyed her Elemental storm-summoning ability as well.

When Nym sneaks off with a host of delegates to Bron, Lord Myles offers her the chance for a new kind of power and the whispered hope that it may do more than simply defeat the monster she loathes. But the secrets the Bron people have kept concealed, along with the horrors Draewulf has developed, may require more than simply harnessing a darker ability.

They may require who she is.

Set against the stark metallic backdrop of the Bron kingdom, Nym is faced with the chance to change the future.

Or was that Draewulf’s plan for her all along?
Siren's Fury is the second book in a magnificent YA fantasy trilogy. The story continues to follow Nym - an Elemental - which were thought to be extinct and impossible to be female. She's always hated her "curse" and the destruction that she brings to those around her. After being trained to control her abilities, Nym was able to rise up and protect Faelen - only to later find out that her powers had been destroyed by Draewulf in the process. When whispered promises of a different type of power and the promise of defeating Draewulf, Nym finds herself contemplating the offer. After finding out that the people of Bron have secrets of their own - and along with Draewulf's terrible new power - Nym has to decide if this darker power is worth everything - maybe even herself.

I have to admit that after reading and loving the first book, I had pretty high expectations and hopes for this book. So many series start out with a strong first book, only to fizzle out in the following installments. I'm so glad to be able to say that this was definitely not one of them. The writing was as mesmerizing as the first book and the story was both thrilling and completely enchanting.
I was immediately sucked back into the world that the author created before the end of the first paragraph. Everything about the Elementals continued to fascinate me. I loved learning even more about them - their history, their powers, the lore - I couldn't get enough. The characters continued to be well rounded, especially Nym. She's so different from the original girl we met at the beginning of the series. She's grown and matured so much - and continued to do both in this book as well. She learns to control her powers and then ends up saving the kingdom. Nym really matures and she starts to become the powerful woman she's meant to be. The other characters in the book were all very well written. They each continued to have distinct personalities with strengths and flaws like everyone else - which made them feel all the more realistic. By the end of the book I felt like I knew each of them personally and that I had experienced everything that occurred right alongside Nym.

The plot was once again full of action - mixed in with political intrigue, twists and turns, suspense, and even romance. The author did a fantastic job entwining all the different genres together to create a truly original and fresh series. There's lots going on throughout the book, which had me devouring each page as fast as I could in order to find out what was going to happen next. I don't do spoilers, so I'll just say this: the twists and turns will send you reeling - and the ending turned everything upside down and backwords. Talk about something you didn't see coming until it smacks you in the face and leaves you gaping in shock. Overall, I found this to be a phenomenal book in what continues to be an enchanting fantasy trilogy. The story had a quick pace and a natural flow along with tons of vivid imagery and detailed descriptions that allowed me to easily slip inside Nym's world once again. I was fully immersed in the story from the very beginning and I didn't (or couldn't) stop reading until I had finished it all - which happened in one sitting. I can't recommend this book highly enough. It will appeal to fans of fantasy, as well as readers who enjoy well written stories with an unique story. I'm already dying for the release of the last book and will probably be re-reading the first two at least a couple more times while I wait.
